Frequently asked questions
-
Also called teleultrasoud, telesonography is a form of telemedicine that enables medical professionals to perform diagnostic ultrasounds remotely.
Here’s how it works: A healthcare worker in one location performs the exam and transmits the resulting cine clips to a secure cloud platform. A medical professional in another location (in our case, a BB Imaging perinatal sonographer) then performs diagnostics and completes a preliminary report for the interpreting provider to review.
Telesonography is particularly helpful in understaffed clinics, in areas that are underserved by specialized healthcare professionals, and in remote areas with limited access to healthcare facilities.
