TeleScan®,  a telesonography-as-a-service provider, is the winner of the Technology Innovation category in the Fierce Life Sciences Innovation Awards 2023, produced by Fierce Biotech and Fierce Pharma. The awards showcase innovation that is driving improvements and transforming the life sciences industry.

TeleScan connects healthcare providers and their patients with remote sonographers to make prenatal ultrasound more accessible. Launched earlier this year, TeleScan has served more than 1,000 patients and enabled providers to reduce examination times, report turnaround times, and time until the next available appointment.

“It’s exciting to see our early results get so much attention,” said Blanca Lesmes, CEO of TeleScan. “I’m thrilled by our progress in making TeleScan not just viable, but a hugely positive solution for patients, providers, and healthcare facilities. Maternal care is lacking in our nation, especially for minority and rural demographics, and TeleScan is part of the answer to making prenatal care more accessible and identifying high-risk pregnancies early.”

“We are so pleased to showcase innovative companies that are pushing boundaries and driving us forward,” said Rebecca Willumson, SVP and Publisher of Fierce Biotech and Fierce Pharma. “Congratulations to the 2023 class of winners.”
