TeleScan Wins Femtech World Award
May 8, 2024 | Austin, TX
Austin, TX (May 8, 2024) – TeleScan®, a telesonography® service company, is the winner of the Maternal Innovation category in the Femtech World Awards 2024. The maternal innovation category was sponsored and judged by Femtech Tokyo.
TeleScan connects healthcare providers and their patients with remote sonographers to make prenatal ultrasound more accessible. Launched last year, TeleScan has served more than 1,500 patients and enables providers to reduce examination times, report turnaround times, and time until the next available appointment.
“I am surprised, humbled, and incredibly grateful for this award,” said Blanca Lesmes, CEO of TeleScan. “In conjunction with TeleScan’s parent company, BB Imaging, we’ve been trying to have an impact on maternal mortality and morbidity for 19 years and counting. It's such an honor to be listed among all the finalists who care as much about women’s and maternal health as we do, and an even greater honor to be chosen as a category winner.”
In discussing their decision, the judges shared, “One of the reasons we have chosen TeleScan is because we truly connected with the story of Blanca Lesmes, CEO of TeleScan, who created a remote ultrasound service to provide equal healthcare to women in areas where access to medical care is difficult. We believe the software is an innovation in maternity health and is significant to protecting women and their babies through early identification of high-risk pregnancies.”
The full list of winners and finalists can be found on the Femtech World website.
